rebirth

riːˈbəːθ/

noun

noun: rebirth; noun: re-birth

  1. the process of being reincarnated or born again.

"the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth"

  1. a period of new life, growth, or activity; a revival.

plural noun: rebirths; plural noun: re-births

"the rebirth of a defeated nation"

REBIRTH is a collaboration between Artist and Poet Ione Azura and Katia Ganfield (No Tape Inside). This experimental short film takes influence from the story of Genesis, exploring a world of depression and negativity, trapped in an ocean of human feelings. The film plays with themes of longing, disparity, mindfulness and the serenity of a fish.

However once the sea of serenity and peace is reached, then what is left but eyes wide shut.

Any beginning is the beginning of the end.

That's why we begin with an egg,

but end up with a smashed shell

and this is the way we crown any beginning.

But we've been taught, but we've been drilled

not to think about the bitter outcome in the beginning,

not to think, not to know, not to try to find out,

but -- once we've decided to begin -- to make a beginning.

Let's begin. Let's play with cruel fate,

let's start the conflict, let's plunge into the fray.

The codfish lays ten thousand eggs,

The homely hen lays one.

The codfish never cackles

To tell you what she's done.

And so we scorn the codfish,

While the humble hen we prize,

Which only goes to show you

That it pays to advertise.

I have just bit into an egg that was boiled

Now my fear is it has been spoiled

I knew they were past their sell by date

I tested them in water and they seemed to be great

Once I bit in it tasted like fish

Oh how I wish I never prepared this dish

The fish taste wasn't because they were bad

Apparently it's from the omega 3 that it had

Who knew.
